EXCELLENTTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My 2011 Tahoe’s transmission gave me a great 180k miles before it started shuddering. I was told that’s about 30k more than typical. County Transmission came highly recommended by (2) very good mechanics. After meeting Hampton I felt like they were right and the vehicle was in the right hands. He diagnosed the issue, gave me a fair price and warranty you could not beat. A year later we started having an issue so I called and they said drop it off we’ll take a look. They honored the warranty made the repair. Fast forward (2) years later the vehicle started making a similar noise from the drive train. This time the vehicle was out of the annual warranty, but well within the mileage warranty (effectively it was out of warranty) but I called and explained the issue. No questions asked he said bring it in and we’ll see what’s going and take it from there. Most shops would have said sorry about your bad luck. Not only did they do a complete diagnosis, they did it at no charge. It turned out it was an operator error with auto 4x4 control. It’s a no wonder Hampton and his crew have been in business for over a 1/2 century and their parking lot is always full. I recently purchased a 2004 Ford Explorer, and the previous owner had the transmission rebuilt at County Transmissions. The vehicle runs perfectly and shifts incredibly smooth. I did notice that the drain/fill plug had developed a small leak. The work was originally done in 2024, and I was told it was still under warranty through August. When I called, they immediately told me to bring the vehicle in. I believe the gentleman I spoke with was Hampton, and he was great to deal with. They promptly road tested the vehicle as part of the warranty transfer process, then brought it into the shop to reseal the plug and check the fluid level. The entire experience was seamless and professional. It’s clear they stand behind their work and truly value their customers. That kind of service goes a long way.
